# Connect Xero to Fotello

Send invoices, contacts, and payments to Xero as work progresses.

Keep your Xero ledger current automatically. Fotello sends finalized, paid, and voided invoices with their contacts and payments.

### What syncs

### Before you start

* Have an active Xero account.
* Be the Fotello account owner or an administrator.

### Connect Xero

1. In Fotello, select **Apps** in the left sidebar.
2. Find **Xero** and select **Connect**.
3. Sign in to Xero and authorize Fotello to access your organisation.
4. Choose the Xero accounts for invoice payments and revenue.
5. Select **Save**.

The integration is now active.

### How syncing works

#### Invoices

Fotello sends finalized, paid, and voided invoice changes in real time. Your Xero ledger reflects each job's current status.

#### Contacts

Fotello creates or matches customers on synced invoices automatically. This keeps contact records consistent across both products.

#### Payments

Fotello records payments against the matching Xero invoice when logged. Manual reconciliation is not required.

#### Real-time books

Changes flow as they happen. Your Xero ledger reflects live Fotello activity.

### Frequently asked questions

#### Do I need to choose Xero accounts during setup?

Yes. After authorizing Xero, choose the accounts Fotello uses for invoice payments and revenue.

#### Will historical invoices sync?

No. Only invoices created or updated after connecting will sync.

#### Can I disconnect Xero?

Yes. Go to **Apps**, find **Xero**, then select **Disconnect**. Existing Xero records remain unchanged.
