# Ceiling Color

Ceiling Color repaints the ceiling in an interior photo with a color you choose.

Use it when a dated, discolored, or uneven ceiling pulls attention away from the room.

{% hint style="info" %}
Ceiling Color works on interior photos. Open a photo in full screen to find it in the [Adjust Panel Overview](/photos/personalizing-photos/adjust-panel-overview.md).
{% endhint %}

### Change a ceiling color

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Open Ceiling Color

In the adjust panel, find the **Ceiling Color** section and click **Change ceiling color**. Fotello finds the ceiling in the photo and opens the Ceiling Color panel. The panel shows its progress next to **Color** while it finds the ceiling.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Pick a color

Choose one of the preset swatches or open the color picker to set any custom color. The ceiling updates as you go.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Fine-tune the strength

Use the **Strength** slider to control how strong the new color looks, from a subtle wash to a full repaint.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Match the color across a room

When your listing has more photos of the same room, Fotello finds them while it looks for the ceiling. During this process, the **Listing photos** heading reads **Finding this room across the listing**.

When it finishes, the heading shows the number of matching photos, such as **4 photos of this room**. Each matching photo has a dot in the strip below the heading.

The dots show which photos already contain the room's ceiling color. Use them to choose a photo in the next step.

Fotello suggests a ceiling color from these photos so the room looks consistent from shot to shot. You'll see **Matched from this room** when it applies a suggestion, or click **Use room color** to apply it yourself.

### Copy a color from one of your photos

Use **Pick from** to take a ceiling color straight from another photo in your listing:

1. In the **Listing photos** strip, choose the photo you want to copy a color from.
2. Click anywhere on that photo in the **Pick from** preview to grab the color at that spot.

The ceiling in the photo you're editing updates to match.

### Start over

Click the reset button in the panel header to clear the color and return the ceiling to how it was shot.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://uni.fotello.co/photos/personalizing-photos/ceiling-color.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
